In the mid 2000s, BNSF rebuilt the Frisco Bridge to handle heavy coal trains. The approach to the bridge on the Arkansas side of the river is the biggest hill on the line between Memphis and Thayer, Mo., and it is possible to stall out on it because of strict throttle position regulations governing movements across it.

According to internet sources (stevecox.com/harahan/part4.htm) they were smothered in the wet cement of one of the support piers.
