This is my Aquaponics set-up, it´s not running live yet with the fish and plants. I use Grow led light, this is all experimental. I hope to make progress very soon. In This system I haven't any plants or fish yet. I just testing first with lighting and the auto sifon.

I used a 560 Liter water container for the Tilapia fish and for the plants and growbed I use two smaller container with the autosifon. I also use a circulation system with two PVC pipes also for future plants.

  • my goal is to create a system with minimum energy input (to reduce our ecological foodprint).

  • @TheBSideDJ

I'm going to experiment with airlift. Its lifting water with just an airpump. Its very energy efficient

  • what is the purpose of the 2 tanks with bell syphons in them

  • How many watts are the led's in total? I'm asking so I can take monthly cost into consideration. And how many lumens are the leds?

  • cut a sky light in your ceiling and use natural sunlight

  • This is really great. It's good to see people doing their own aquaponics and growing our own food. We are going to need it. Awesome work.

  • How do you like the LEDs so far? I would love to lower my energy bill but I'm not convinced that LEDs will provide the same growing light.I'm currently using 2x400wt and 1-250wt. It's great growing light but my energy bill is high.
