    Which Bush regulation are you talking about? Basel II? That was planned in the 90s and passed by several countries.

    Do you know how leveraging works?

    Leveraging assets is nothing out of the ordinary. It basically means borrowing money to invest in something that has a higher return than the borrowing cost.

    The main problem was equity erosion.

    The GOP is done. it will never recover. There is a chance for a libertarian style reform of the GOP, which personally I would welcome.
