How to Sew an Invisible Zipper

@velvetdreamsfashion Hi. From reading your question, I can only summise one of two things. Are you using a zipper foot on your sewing machine. If not, you will never be able to sew close enough to the teeth of the zipper. This is required as it hides the tape of the zipper. Hope that helps. Any other problems, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Hey,
I am from Germany, so my English is not the best...
I like your tutorial very much! But I have a problem. I think, I am exactly doing what you are teaching, but it does'nt work out :(
I try to explain... hummm... when I am finished, i can see the complete zipper on the right side of the fabric, when I look at your work, it is completly hidden. When I pull on each side off the fabric, the zipper comes out even more (and if the zipper is in some clothing, it will be pulled to the sides?)

@polinalexan Thanks so much for the question. In short, it's so much easier inserting an invisible zip before sewing the seam. You may encounter problems doing it the other way round as sometimes it's hard to get the zip to lay perfectly flat. In those cases, I'd be considering using a different type of zip insertion.

In this video, you had two pieces of fabric that were separate before you started. If you were making a dress and some part of the seam was already in place, how would you place the zipper in relation to this seam so it comes out perfect?
Thank you. I learnt so much. Just one question though - won't the zip soon come away because you had to stop sewing where the slider was?

@1slamicLife Hi. The zip shouldn't come away as long as it's securely stitched to the seam allowance. It's just the way the zip is designed. Hope that helps.

You're quite good at sewing. How long have you been doing it, if I might ask? Thanks for the tutorial, it really does a great job of explaining invisible zips!
