SKY News: Monks Disrupt Media Trip In Tibet

Monks interrupted a trip by foreign media organised by the Chinese government in Lhasa. The excursion was meant to show how calm had been restored after riots. The PR disaster was exactly what China did not want, says Sky Asia correspondent Peter Sharp.

You don't see an Indian national or Mexican, unhappy with anything in his or her own country go seek assistance from another country to attack his own country. Its like asking your neighbour to attack your parents just because you don't fully agree with them. That's the problem with you Zang ethnic minority (Tibetan) of Xizang, China. Whatever grievances you have with your motherland, China, the doors to peaceful discussions has always been open to your leaders.

Kosovo is now independent and recognized by the international community. This can happen, and should for Tibet. China must show mercy and just stop being so cruel and harsh to the Tibetans. They could be more tolerant. The 'TAR' is for Tibetan Autonomous Region after all. China needs to back off! The Tibetans are neither violent or lazy.

The oppression and killings of innocent Tibetans has gone too far. People have nothing else to lose. That is why we are rising up at the peril of death.
