In honor of Jim Perry's birthday, here is the finale of True Romance Week from 1988 of Sale of the Century!

The top 3 winners of the first 4 shows: Richard Brody, Ted Fay, and Brian Carpenter, have returned to compete for more cash and prizes. The player with the most money at the end of the Speed Round drives home in a 1989 Ford Probe GL, worth $14,571.

No Winner's Big Money Game is played in this finale.

NOTE: Part of the intro is chipped.

  • How many of these special weeks did they have from the time they instigated the "Winner's Big Money Game" until the finale?

  • @Tubewings

Well, they had the Tournament of Champions (maybe more than one week), True Romance Week, Brides Week, End of Summer Bash Week, College Week, Pep Rally Week, Trick or Treat Week (well, not a special special week, since it included regular games). At least 7 special weeks could answer your question.

  • Three men as contestants on this show were rare it seemed to me. Although there's a 1983 episode somewhere on Youtube where three men were contestants. Usually it was man woman man or woman man woman. The only time you don't see the contestants escorted to the podium is when there's not a returning champion.

  • Richard barely got into the finals on his episode.

    Thanks for the video!

  • THis aired on either 11/4 or 11/11 or 11/18, 1988 originally.
