King influenced many later blues guitarists including Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor, Mike Bloomfield, Gary Moore, and especially Stevie Ray Vaughan, who also covered many of King's songs. Clapton's guitar solo on the 1968 Cream hit "Strange Brew" from the album Disraeli Gears is a close emulation of King's solo on his Stax Records hit "Oh, Pretty Woman".
On one of the nights, when Hendrix appeared on stage, the first thing he said was, "Yeah, Albert King. I dig him." Then he proceeded to play some of Albert's licks as an homage.

He was a real smasher! He was the holy bible of the blues. The raw real blues!!! Stevie Ray Vaughan´s Texas Flood Is a lick cover of this song. I really believe it!!!
earpussy . thats funny as fuck. but nah fuck those english tools. i mean i like jimmy page aaight . but A. king is on a whole nother level of expression than those cats . sure he's not as technically overbearing as those guys , but just let him rip and stand back. no guitarist from england can rate against someone from the south.
Alberts phrasing on the guitar is so unique!!! I've studied many great guitarists styles. Albert Kings guitar licks sound so simple, but his style, or his phrasing I should say, Is very difficult to comp perfectly. A true Master of the Blues!!!
yep! its the silence and the obendance of feeling that gets me. And stuff that I deal with everyday in real life. Love AK. So lucky to have these videos of him!

Hendrix restrung the guitars before playing them upside down.
