Also, if you are getting your degree in fashion many college specify that your internship be related to your field. For example, if you are getting a bachelor's in fashion design, you have to have an internship with design. So, always ask questions to make sure the internship of your choice counts toward your degree.

so do you go to LIM or FIT? ive toured both and will be applying this fall to both? what are your opinions of those? im hoping to study marketing.
depending on which school you go to - whats the work load like? the culture/environment/social scene? dorms, if you dormed?

This was great, Thanks Angela! I received my bachelors degree in Human Development, but I have quickly realized that I'm not very passionate about it. I currently work with troubled kids, but it is so depressing! I am actually taking an intro to fashion course at my local community college later this month and I am very excited about new prospects. The only experience I have in fashion/beauty is my blog and my overall love for it. Do you have any advice to offer to me? Thank you!

@doubtfuldreamer its crazy how different things are! They say in the usa you need 2-3 internships to be competitive in the job market!

@doubtfuldreamer I wouldn't necessarily say im really confident - at least not in person. I am just passionate about what I've studied and hope to do!

do you find it is more difficult to get an internship with a fashion or beauty company as opposed to another field? What do you find that made you set apart from other people applying for the internships you have had? I am in my 3rd year at college and have never had an internship but definitely planning on trying to get one soon.
