@louisvilleguitarguy For the most part, Troopers have previously worked as either city, county or military police. I would say the best route would be to get on with Nashville Metro Police, get to know the Troopers in Davidson County, take the written exams and then apply for a state patrol position. Even then, it is not guaranteed that you will get Davidson County. They generally place their Troopers where there are vacancies.

I got a lot of respect for our law enforcement agencies across TN, but if you're going to do a tribute make sure the pictures you take have our guys obeying the law.(Several pictures had the state troopers in curves going over the yellow line, some were as much as two to three feet.) Just saying.

Good music. Big antennas. Cool dog. The only thing I don't like is the design on their cars, I think they could do better. It especially looks bad on the SUVs, sorry. Great video though! Do you know how rare it is for an opening in THP in the Nashville area? I imagine it's pretty hard to come by, but I'd like to become a cop and I love Nashville. Again, great video!!

@louisvilleguitarguy - Thanks for the comment, and I'm not sure on how the rareness of a job opening is in the Nashville district, But, I am sure that they get 1 or a couple of officers from each graduating class. I'm from Kentucky though, so not to sure on TN's graduation procedures from the Trooper Academy. But good luck on becoming a cop or a (Trooper), and Thanks again.

@SFbrandonSF Thanks for the speedy reply! One more question though, you said you were on the eligible list about 6 months ago and that you're from KY (so am I), but I was reading about them and I thought you had to live in TN to even be considered?

@louisvilleguitarguy - Lol, No, Someone else had commented and said they were on the eligible list. I just commented back to them. But, As far as I can tell, you do not have to be a TN resident at the time of applying, but if offered a position you must relocate to TN. The qualifications dont say that you have to live in TN when applying.
