Mt. Spokane expansion sparks debate

The Mount Spokane ski and snowboard park is pitching plans to open up 400 acres on the backside of the mountain, which has caused some debate between the park and environmentalists. KXLY4's Erik Loney reports.

Makes me wonder if the groups opposing this have actually experienced what a ski resort is like in the Spring/summer. On the runs, there is dense vegetation about three feet thick, both protecting the run from erosion and helping as the first layer of filtration for ground water. Nature causes more dangerous erosion every year than man could approach, even with less stringent controls. Washington state will probably put the Kibosh on these plans anyway, as they have for decades.

hey mt spokane is the best mountain around... the snow is always good, but they do need alot more space so i think they should expan it.... screw the hippies!!!!!!!!
