Paulina Admits to Jake That She Loves Him

Paulina goes after Jake, who is walking through the smoke-filled studio, wiping at his teary eyes. She tells him she doesn't love Kevin and never did. It's just that she felt like Jake was pressuring her and she needed time and distance after what she did to Jake and what Jake did to her because of it. Jake starts to walk away again, and Paulina calls after him that she loves him. This stops him in his tracks, tears still in his eyes. The smoke alarms are going off, bells clanging loudly because of all the smoke from the flash pot. Jake asks Paulina what she said and tells her he can't hear her. Paulina is teary-eyed by now too but smiling, and she repeats those three words Jake's been waiting to hear: "I love you." He rushes to her side and lifts her into his arms, spinning her around. Then they hear the security guy on the intercom, saying that he's calling the fire department, and in unison, they scream "NOOOO!" and go dashing over to the wall, where Paulina manages to shut off the alarm and Jake picks up the radio and assures the security guard that everything's fine. After replacing the radio, Jake swears on his father's grave that if anyone comes in there and interrupts him and Paulina now... Paulina solves the problem by locking the door so no one can get in. They head back into the studio, and Jake tells Paulina, "Oh, honey, you look like hell."

"So do you," Paulina replies, but she's smiling. "Very nice thing to say to someone who just said 'I love you.'" Jake asks Paulina why she just said it. "Because, God help us, it's true," she says. Jake asks her what about everything she said before that, then? Paulina says nobody's perfect. Jake says this is pretty perfect to him. Paulina says it's pretty perfect for her too. No trucks, no firemen, just them. And then they kiss and sink to the floor and that's the freeze frame. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

thanks so much for posting this! I have looked all over for this scene. I miss Tom Eplin and the character of Jake so much, he was a phenomenal actor.

Jake had tears in his eyes! All he wanted was for Paulina to love him back the way he loved her, the smile on his face when she told him she loved him too, was priceless. It made me smile also. I always smile when i watch these to, whether they are arguing or embracing one another, they are a wonderful pair and worked really well together. I cant believe the writers didnt put them back together before the show went off the air!!

Jake was definitely the greatest soap character of all time. No one portrayed a character with more depth and strength than Tom Eplin. He loved Paulina in such a way that one could only hope for. he did silly things at times, but always remained true to her. i love them. I dont understand why SOAPNET took away AW?

YEAH!!! After all this time...these two finally found their way to one another!!
