Designer Image Technologies, Inc. (DIT) is the developer of patented technology that enables inkjet printing on spherical objects. The technology, which includes hardware and software, provides methods and systems for easily and quickly printing names, logos and pictures (in multiple file formats) onto almost any kind of spherical, semi-spherical or cylindrical object.
DIT has developed the BalljetTM color printer to inkjet print on golf balls.
DIT provides state-of-the-art industrial digital inkjet printing machines that can reduce the cost of printing on personalized golf balls by more than 70% for small production runs (fewer than 100 units). The payback period for its product is estimated to be 6 months. Its software enables the artist/designer to create text, import images, and place the completed design on a virtual sphere (in software) for validation before sending the graphics to the BalljetTM color printer.
The BalljetTM color printer is designed to enable balls to be easily loaded at the loading station as the balls are processed from station to station utilizing the index table. At each station various colors are applied, dried/cured, and the golf balls are automatically unloaded at the unloading station. The index table includes a stationary table top with a centralized dial plate that indexes (rotates in fixated angular increments). Dial plates can have various components mounted enabling convenient orientations.
