Just finished wiring up the mame cabinet, it is almost completed, still need to finish the tv surround and marquee. Thought I would test it out by running some lode.

Sanwa 8 way bat top joysticks x 2, 6 player buttons x 2, 1/2 player buttons, power, credit, 2 admin buttons, I-pac 2 (32 inputs), Intel E5300, 2GB DDR2 667 Ram, 200gb ide drive, asus p5kpl-cm motherboard, 6600gt, Panasonic 68cm.

Cost around $700 all up, would have cost more but I had most of the computer parts lying around. Thanks to Chris @ ozstick.com.au

  • is there a way to delete windows so it just goes right to your front end when you turn it on? also what are the two admin buttons used for?

  • @TheGrimrose You might have to look into DOS based mame emulators or just use some 3rd party application to change the windows boot up logo and theme so it appears to boot just to a sole mame emulator with no windows installation. The 2 admin buttons are used for pause and fast-forward, I highly recommend them.

  • @amulday What is the front-end that you are running?

  • @alyx222 I was using maximus arcade.
