"Our particular target currently resides in the Forest Cafe on Bristo Place in Edinburgh. It was originally installed by Gray and Davison in the Chapel Royal of Dublin Castle in the late 19th century, then rebuilt its current location in 1900, into what was, at the time, the Edinburgh Congregational Church. The Edinburgh University Settlement acquired the building in 2003, and the Forest Cafe moved in. From that time, the pipe organ lay silent, neglected and abandoned, but in the last couple of years, the footerings of random geeks have made it playa

The Waldflöte project is a MIDI retrofit to a 1890s Gray and Davison pipe organ located in the Forest Cafe in Edinburgh. It converts MIDI input into solenoid drive to directly press the keys on one of the manuals - there is no permanent modification to the organ.

  • Actually, when I think about it, those go together pretty well if you exclude the kazoo. Get yourself a high-quality kazoo, it'll perfact the instrument.

  • "High Quality kazoo" hahahaha.

  • Do i see an internal PCI soundcard up on that Waldflöte? I saw a midi execution too. How did you get hardware to send jolts to those keys? How long did it take you to time everything out correctly? I assume it initially was a very slow process. So many questions about this process youve got going on here. I like it!!

  • the link in the side bar will explain all

  • I can't imagine how awesome the kazookeylele would be on "Through the Fire and Flames".

  • You are an amazing and unique individual! You make the world a much less boring place to live.

Don't listen to the haters...they live in a box.

  • I bet that really turns on the chicks! Oh sorry. Chicks are females, women, hotties, squeeze, girls. I'm sure you've seen them around.

  • @janaki68 what kind of box do they live in? is it a cardboard box like the ones hobos live in? or is it a tin box like a preschoolers lunch box....??

  • or maybe you could use a harmonikeylele

  • NICE VIDEO

    VERY VERY GOOD

    THANKS

  • That's not a "footering of random geeks", that's me who fixed that organ!

Took me bloody hours to sand the gold paint off the keys - and I only got the bottom row done. I *love* this video. The MIDI controller is simply genius!

  • I agree with whitesexybeast69.. But this was pretty neat to watch hah
