Chip Reid's father passes into eternity while Chip performs his obligations. Part of Mr Reid's obligation was interviewing the President, Mr. Obama. Prior to the president answering the question poised by Mr. Reid, Mr. Obama offered him his condolences.
The passing of a family member, a loved one, causes me to reflect on the brevity of life. How short life is and how fast life goes. Death was not God's intention for man but eternal fellowship. We have all fallen short, we have all missed the mark, we are born out of the truth, out of eternal fellowship with Jehovah God.
When I see stories such as this one, the passing of a prominent individual's family member such as the father of Chip Reid. My heart goes out to those who remain and hope the one who passed understood God has reconciled man to himself through the death of his son, Jesus.
Were it not for God's own Son taking on the likeness of sinful flesh, bearing the penalty of our sin in his body while hanging on the tree, we would still be eternaly seperated from Him.
Act_8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. Act_8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? Act_8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Act_8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. Act_8:39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
Probably so, receiving condolences from the sitting President so close to the passing of his dad, that is memorable.

It is just me, or was Chip Reid about to cry when he asked Obama the question, at the press conference?
