It was one of those times I will never forget. I love the song and of course I love the carpenters. It was a cold and snow filled day in February when I was driving down Hwy 66 in Duncan Oklahoma and the DJ for the radio station in OKC announced that Karen had just passed away. He immediately played the song "Superstar". I had to pull off the road into a parking lot and hearing that song I just cried.  I could not believe it.

This is the definition of sadcore music, way before that genre was even invented. So beautiful, so tragically sad song about a person obsessed with someone else's fame (this is my interpretation, anyways). Can just listen to her singing over and over.
