i think the word emo is the most confused, misused word ever...

and im still confused why emo is treated negatively. all songs are emotional. thats the point.

i dont why people associate emo to gay gothic fashion, and crap music like fall out boy.

@loveriamloveless336 i am possibly one of the biggest conor oberst fans. calling him an emo icon is very, very, very insulting. He plays indie, not emo. emo is short for emotional hardcore. i don't really see how conor oberst plays hardcore styled music, though that man is brutal. I'm not being a "hater," by the by. otherwise, i would have won an award on the dave chapelle show.

@mrpogi23 What people don't get, is emo is actually short for "emotive hardcore" and it was exclusively for punk guys who wanted more feeling in their music. The term has definitely been bastardized over the past few decades.

emo used to be an insult back in the 80's. the term means emotional. every artist puts emotion into there work. shouldn't every artist be considered emo?
