  • You know what Thesurus, I almost ended up with a full recording (adverts included) of "Big" from this date, however, it got taped over with a BBC1 screening of "Tootsie" shortly after (and even that has no continuity recorded).

Fantastic!!! Well done, here are the continuity/ads/news I'd have missed!

  • lol. So glad I could reveal what you taped over. :)

  • You begin to realise precisely why the bastards ensured that series like This Week could not continue, but at least they went out firing.

Another of the numerous proto-Classic FM compilations of this period advertised here. Note that Alan Sugar may have been the reason Sky won the Premier League rights five months later.

I believe quite a few people died in London as a direct result of the poor air quality at this month, the most deaths for this reason since the last great smog in 1962.

  • The man mentioned was a newsreader and the lady mentioned in the Chanel advert is best known for her 1988 hit 'Joe Le Taxi'.

  • Denis Tuohy voices the "This Week" trailer.

And the gorgeous Vanessa Paradis in the birdcage in the Coco Chanel advert.
