Special Stages in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Sega Genesis)

Some time ago someone requested a video of the special stages in Sonic the 2 for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive.
This video is probably long overdue, I had some real life issues to deal with, but now I'm proud to show you my latest work, a guide about those special stages.
I hope you will enjoy this, and I apologise in advance if I couldn't play them perfectly, you know that I'm against tool-assisted videos and it's definitely impossible to get all the rings (even as 2P).

It's actually possible to get all 7 emeralds by the end of the first chemical factory level if you can be bothered to find all the checkpoints on the first three levels with at least 50 rings for every one.

You can actually get all the 7 emeralds in Emerald Hill Zone and challenge the first boss already as Super Sonic.

@nineko If you know how to get debug mode and all chaos emeralds (Code), thats another way to beat the first boss as super sonic, no game genie required

i remember doing this when i was little i was tails and my older brother was sonic. on the last stage we came up with a strategy to beat that level good times

The highest I've ever gotten was emerald number 3.
