First experiment with stop motion animation - a Polaroid land camera opening with flash. I shot it very quickly using a DV camera and Frame Thief (30-45min so it's a bit sloppy). Used a curved ultamatte green showcard to create a mini-cyclorama and keyed out the background with After Effects/keylight. Emotional support provided by LegoMovieMan (aka "he who creates beautiful cinema with tiny bricks", "david awesome", and creator of "Paganomation" - www.paganomation.com).

  • Is that really the flashbulb makes when you soot with it? Because whenever I shoot with the flash all I hear is the shutter.

I added the "flash" in After Effects by using the "Flare" filter on an adjustment layer. The sound effect is from sounddogs which has a keyword search and 8-bit sounds that can be downloaded for free! :-)

  • I have so many of those :D

Really cool :-) My "Cyclorama" was an old sketchy showcard painted Ultamatte green and held precariously in place with some gaffer tape ;-)

It's a Polarod Automatic 100 Land Camera. I got it at a garage sale for $.99 - in it's original case, with the manual and a package of Sylvania Flashbulbs! :-)

  • GOD DAMN IT!! i blink >.<

  • @ristancarl78 Nope, this is (I'm almost positive) a model 100, which is the model that I have. The 440 is a later model of the Polaroid color pack camera. :)

  • @okeefe1996 hey is it a 440 or 450 cause i have a 440
