  • Looks fantastic! I'm real excited for you and for the future of space exploration.

  • @DeepDeepSpace Not so fast propaganda boy.... A Republican President (Eisenhower) started the space program and a Democratic Congress ended Apollo....Oh by the way Mr. History In the SAME speech when Kennedy called for going to the moon he also called for going to Vietnam. Those who followed his call there were spit on...

  • and he actually said "when we go back to the Moon"..."land on Mars"..LOL... what a comedian..

  • @joshatkins94 (2/2) The problems with Mercury kept Kennedy interest tepid, fearing it was just a public relations nightmare. Instead he went on as a social program proponent and had little interest in the space program beyond its 'slogan' value for months into his term, until he was convinced of its political expediency and made his 1961 'Special Message" speech.

ie. Kennedy was a POLITICIAN. His interest was political and his speech was driven by politics.

  • @BunkLite What happened was Nixon let Spiro Agnew head a commission to decide what to do next, including human Mars mission, lunar base, or shuttle/space station, and they went for the latter.

  • @RonFella He reportedly wants to cancel Ares I, the planned crew launch vehicle for Orion, and plans to ask NASA to build a heavy-launch vehicle for Orion instead (think Saturn V, but bigger), but changes will need congressional approval. He has already approved a $1 bn increase in NASA's budget.

  • @BunkLite he actually wanted to go to Mars, but MIT professor (later deputy NASA administrator) Robert Seamans had to convince him it wasn't possible, but flights to the Moon would be.

  • Military's at MAX, culture's at MAX, yep, only Space Program's left.
