The ladies pocket books 1835 Part 1 is the first edition on Americas first magazine of fashion and high society stories of New York. This is one of the rarest complete books in the world of fashion and part of my personal collection that spans 200 years of my fashion collection.

Episode #1 Periodicals magazines & rare fashion books.

QUOTE FROM A PRESS RELEASE!
"Francisco Medavogs collection started off as a small sampling of some European couture designs to help him study FASHION design. By looking at the French seams and other intricacies, he learned about couture construction through the true masters of design. This hobby quickly became a collection of more than 25,000 fashion items, primarily 20th century European designs, with a number of them extending back to the 1920s and 30s.

"At first, I didn't quite understand why so many people were interested in seeing these clothes," says Francisco. "For me, the clothes were simply great examples of what I was able to study while at the Fashion Institute. Now, I feel that my collection is the beginning of a wonderful museum collection."

"I'd love to open the first American Fashion Museum, devoted solely to fashion and couture, similar to Zandra Rhodes' museum in London."

  • I did some further research and found that Ladies Pocket Magazine was published from 1824-1839.

  • That is very interesting.... That must be valuable, and sentimental, equally.

I love late 17th pirate apparel, shirts, trousers and all. People don't understand it, but I see you have a passion for it.

    Very happy to see that.

  • you are lucky to have such a book francisco! I would love to have a read of it myself.

  • Great video.

  • wow remarkable condition for the age(the book not you-just in case.) That was also part of the appeal of dolls at that time(earlier than 1900's )-the fashion.

  • Wow! What a beautiful book and amazing story! I always expect the unexpected on your channel, and I am very impressed! :)
