I remember seeing clips of this demo and other performers from that show on the VHS Wings of Thunder. Sure is nice to hear the real sound as opposed to the music track!

An exceptionally rare and unique F/A-18 hornet flight display. I stand to be corrected, but I think Bob Wade's horizontal 360 high-alpha pass in a fighter was his and his alone - I don't ever recall anyone else performing that again. I remember watching it - as the aircraft approached the audience and receded - the hornet seemed to just hang there in space ! Very rare - thanks for posting - brings back memories.

I think he was also the first NATO pilot to fly the Mig-29 in 1989 when the Russians visited the Abbotsford Airshow.

I wonder what the next fight aircraft Canada will get.Hope ite Erofighter but think it will be the f-35.The snowbirds will surely upgrade to the Hornet by then.

The transition to high Alpha was amazing! I'd love to see the 360 degree high alpha turn again.
