We all know that corporations like Exxon and Halliburton care more about making a few dollars than they do about human life, but would you think that Exxon shareholders and board members would actually support an idea to use dead humans as a fuel source? Or how about Halliburton manufacturing a survival suit to protect wealthy Americans in the event of a nuclear war? Both of those ideas seem a little far-fetched, but in reality, both companies were ecstatic over these ideas when they were presented to them. Unfortunately for these companies, these ideas were actually pranks pulled off by two men - Andy Bichlbaum and Mike Bonanno, and they both sat down with Mike Papantonio
recently to talk about how they pulled off these stunts, as well as dozens of others which you can watch in their new film "The Yes Men Fix the World."

  • It is absurdist because it is a response to our living in a corporate absurdist state. When you can actually have 300 oil executives sit in rapt attention - even momentarily - and seriously consider the viability of profiting from the deaths of millions, you succeed in a sublime parody that transcends comedy and political activism. What the YM do is basically turn corporatist tactics against the corporatists. That's why it works so well.

  • Dale, you have 5 questions. I can help answer the last one.

    Yes, they rode bikes.

Perhaps some other viewers might help with the first 4.

  • @sniperontheroof123 Um, no. Did you actually watch the video?

  • @orchidtender what do you mean "profit from the deaths of millions?" does the car industry "profit from the deaths of millions" because they sell cars, which kill people?

  • Brilliant explanation.

  • Soylent green! It's people!

    LMAO.

  • Yes.

    "Soylent Green! It's People!"

  • I would love to do this, there are so many directions you could take this idea!
