Paper piecing makes quilt making harder than it has to be.

Mixed Media art comes to mind. Very cool. Thank you.

If you read the title with the words..."(just for fun)" that's what this was. It was really cool and the music was great!

Paper piecing is a quilting technique in which you sew fabric directly on to paper to produce intricate patterns. The blocks have all sorts of uses...quilts, wall hangings, bags, you name it!

Wonderful, it's so much easier than listening the long winded explanations, if you have even a small idea about how it's done, seeing it this way helped me a lot, many many thanks, keep up the good work.

@CanadianCarol1 Thank you so very much! Paper piecing is my passion and I love to share, so any opportunity I get to is a bonus. I've thought about doing an updated version of this video now that I'm better at editing videos. Maybe 2011 will be the year for that!

I'm looking forward to trying paper piecing out in the near future. We haven't had a sewing machine in our house for years and just came into ownership of two very nice ones. (Under rather unfortunate circumstances though. The belonged to my grandmother.) So I hope to give something like this a shot. (Probably with your Umbrella Corporation pattern, since I'm a RE freak.)

@gamingXwidow I hope when you do try paper piecing, that you enjoy it as much as I do. Having your grandmother's sewing machines is a true gift. I have a few quilting things of my grandmother's and it reminds me of her whenever I use them.

If you're looking for a slower how-to, have a look at the video description. There are links to my website, which has a full length version of this video as well as a written tutorial.
