Installing a new top on a '93LE. This was my 56th Miata top installation.

***The original song I had for this video got it pulled by a 3rd party copyright claim. The song on there now is some lame crap you can get for free from YouTube.

  • wait, you installed it without taking the frame off the car! wow. im impressed. is it easier with the frame on or off the car?

  • @road5ter86 The top does NOT need to come off the car. Read more about this in my written instruction on Miata.net.. Garage.. Tops: Illustrated Top Instructions.

  • Whats the point of this video if we don't know whats going on? can you please add some tutorial sound to the video and maybe slow it down a bit??

  • @EdBossaNova What a huge sense of entitlement you have. This time lapse video was featured for a month on the front page of Miata.net. They understood the “point” that this not an instructional video.

  • was that glass back or plastic?

  • @ad1997 Plastic

  • Dude do mine... I'll give you beer man....

  • Don't worry, bro, about all the chippy comments. I found your video very entertaining. I'll be trying my installation in a couple of weeks. Wish me luck.

  • Nice job! I like your puppy.

  • Was this fucking music really necessary?

  • That's pro.

  • Do-it-yourselfers one important thing to remember is that the "rain rail" should be intact; no cracks , splits or damage, if so you'll get water in the trunk even with a new top, the rain rail can be repaired or replaced. If you know what your doing it should take between 3-4 hours to complete the entire install. Take it to a pro and get the "budget top" or the hard glass replacement for between 500-600 installed.
