  • Yes, phentermine is FDA approved. In 1959 phentermine first received approval from the FDA as an appetite suppressing drug. Phentermine hydrochloride then became available in the early 1970s to assist those in reaching their weight loss goals. Remember that phentermine is a prescription medication, so you will need to see a Board Certified Physician in order to receive this medication.
