Here is video proof for those interested in purchasing either item that the PowerPak from RetroZone is NOT compatible with the Retro Duo. Even though it clearly states on retrousb.com that the PowerPak is not compatible with clone systems, it does not specifically mention the Retro Duo by name. After reading conflicting reports online and hearing several requests for a demonstration, I thought I'd dispel all doubt and do my own test. If you have any additional inquiries, feel free to send me a message or leave a comment. Thanks for viewing.

  • I'd like to buy a powerpak and I wish it works on my retro duo! I got a super flash card from Tototek and it works on my retro duo (with only a single game uploaded)...

  • @jameslabrat Yeah, I was kinda hoping it would work too. :)

In all honesty, though, you're probably better off investing in a trusty old NES anyway. The RetroDuo's 8 bit side doesn't emulate sound very well. Besides, there's something really neat about using the PowerPak in a real NES. :)

  • does any1 know if a super gameboy works on it ?

  • @espltdm251playa That definitely works. Mine plays pretty much like I always remembered on the SNES. So technically, if you own a Super Gameboy, the Retro Duo can actually emulate three different systems.

  • There are different versions of the retro duo. Supposedly some work and some dont. You have to have the right one.

  • @JBOPatrick I thought that might be a possibility. Well, I guess I'll have to test a larger sample size for a more accurate result. :P

I really wonder what percentage of them (or if in fact any of them) are compatible.

  • obviousely the nes powerpak does,nt work on clones becouse of poor and/or incomplete emulation, whereas the snes powerpak just works on clone systems.

,m mean is it harder to get the nes accury emulated???

compared with noac clone systems the retro duo has better nes emulation all the way and also works with castlevania3 ,but still does,nt worrk with the nes powerpak, but it does work with the snes powerpak, ,m mean what,s the point???

    iany guesss youtubers???

  • you need the nes power pack lite, which works on clone consoles only

  • Hey do you still have your retro duo? cause i was wondering if yours had part of the pin broken after a few times

  • @espltdm251playa super game boy does work on the retro duo. I know that because I had one of these, and a super game boy.

  • If you would have read the power pack's description it says it dose not work with any console clones as the method of getting around the lockout chip effects it no doubt. Now if you look at the super power pack the one for the snes it works with console clones.

  • was there ever an adapter to play NES carts on a snes and if so would such a beast run on a retro duo? thanks again for checking this out and posting

  • i use a yobo fc3plus :D but sadly i dont have any snes games. just genesis and nes but sonic and zelda are still great :)

  • Not to be rude here, but in effect you are saying, "If you want to play your non-original games on a non-original system, you're out of luck. You can't fake your way into this one." Dare I say try the real thing? Well that sounded rude....oh well.

  • does the nes or snes game genie work for the retro duo?

  • So now the question is... does it work on the RetroDuo v2? I'm guessing not, but I guess that would be the last hope...
