Great playing and a really sad story. Our jazz group used to attempt this in 1957 and we looked up to Humph. If the story is true, how awful for the composer.

Sorry to say My uncle died in June of this year, very sad. I was at the hospital the afternoon he died. At the funeral a jazz band walked the hurse in to the crem. Bad Penny Blues was mentioned in the service & the controvercy about it, but my uncle never wanted any agro & shrugged his soldiers at the time, he didn't care, although he should of. Littleton then got all the glory. If you are interested, I could send you a copy of his album, he bought out.

@nozeyparker How great to be related to the composer.
This is a fiendishly difficult piece to play - and you're right about Lyttleton - he just took all the credit for the original - the success of which was down to the composer and the pianist on the original recording - who I don't think was even credited on the record. Well done to your uncle - is he still around?

wow DO YOUR DAD :)))

My uncle, Johnny Parker wrote this tune in 1955 whilst in the Humph Littleton band. HL took all the credit for something he did not even create. Good attempt at the tune.
