  • Is that the closing music for NBC nightly news where you live? I've never heard that music. Was it a 1 time thing?

  • It is a one time thing. This is the close from the Nightly News 50th anniversary, so I assume it was a track used on Nightly News in the past.

  • @NewsFan2 The music was used for the close of the old Huntley-Brinkley Report, featuring Chet Huntley and David Brinkley. It became NBC Nightly News in the early 1970's after Chet Huntley retired.

  • @NewsFan2 It was their 60th anniversary...

  • @zbsx You're right about Rob. I think Allison is really good, but am not a huge fan or Rob.

  • @BearFan09 Rob and Allison have still struggled with on air chemistry; and despite being here for quite a while, the viewers have not warmed up to Rob yet. They believe that Bob Sirott would have been better, even though he had disagreements with management.

  • @evanellis I totally agree! And I LOVE Allison Rosati, too! I am suprised NBC5 isn't higher up in the rankings, they have such a great presentation and such great personalities.

  • My town is listed in the opening on the news for NBC 5 Chicago

  • I love the use of the classic NBC "Chimes" in the theme.

  • The piece was used as the theme for The Huntley-Brinkley Report, which would evolve into NBC Nightly News - it's for that reason that it's since been sampled for the Countdown theme.

  • WMAQ graphics and music FTW.

  • our station in rochester, ny WHEC uses the same graphics, but not in HD.
