Pastor: you have it so wrong. Regina is not talking about other people and what they should believe. Listen carefully. She (and I) are, btw, not followers of Jesus, but Jewish.

In 3:10-3:25, the pastor states that there is no biblical president in regards to God laughing at our foolishness. Psalm 59:8; Psalm 37:13; Prov.1:23-28. These are examples of God laughing in derision at the puny, futile efforts of those who think they can rise above, defeat or live separately from God. Really it is laughable. Isn't god a human too? We all sometimes laugh at mistakes. At lot of the things she does say is true to others that are not of your religion. It's just how people are. Your wife must have gotten the wrong memo.

I'm fairly sure the whole song is about No one is Laughing at god when your life is falling apart because if there is a god who would be destroying your life?

I did go and check out that song and I can see her point of view especially around Christmas, we've taken the baby Jesus and turned into some kind of icon forgetting the grownup version and the saving grace He gave us.

not sure but as others have pointed out she sees things through the lens of being Jewish which carries with it the waiting for the messiah who is yet to come.
