Just a simple video of our cat, Light. Nothing humorous. He's sleepy, but does a little grooming. He is a red point bi-color Ragdoll and is just over 1-year old.

Recorded with a Panasonic LUMIX GH1 and 20mm "pancake" lens at F1.7. Camera is set to continuous autofocus, and with the shallow depth of field you can see it go in and out of focus slightly at times.

The original is 1280x720 at 60fps, but I slowed it down to 30fps so it plays in slow motion. I think it's more relaxing to watch this way. =)

  • Thanks everyone for the comments! Sorry I don't get onto YouTube very often. Light and Quin are both doing fine. I need to do more videos of them. :)

  • ...love this - it's a super video, very beautifully put together - and a great demonstration of the G 20 f1.7 (which is what i was looking for). Are there any drawbacks or criticisms you would have of the lens, now you've been using it for a while? My main interest is in using it in low light, for stills and video, on my GH1.

  • @handheldfilmsUK Hi. I have the 20mm F1.7 on my GH2 most of the time. Overall I really like this lens, but I do have some criticism: 1) Its focusing is not silent and it can actually get into the recording during quiet scenes. 2) Its focusing is slow in video mode, so you could end up with a fair amount of out of focus footage if you leave it on auto and use it as you would a normal video camera.

  • very nice! thanks for posting. is it possible to change the lens?

  • @DreamerCafe Hi. Yes, you can change the lens on this camera. And with adapters, you can use literally hundreds of other lenses as well. I think that's part of the appeal of the Micro Four Thirds system cameras.

  • '

    is this white cat DEAFNESS

  • @bestamerica No, he's not deaf. White cats with blue eyes have a genetic tendency towards deafness, but Light is a red point ragdoll and not pure white. He was less than 1 year old when I shot this video, and since then his colors have deepened. I should probably do a new video but it's hard to get him to stay still these days. =)
