  • which ones are your favorite?

i really dig the tones from the sheptone and the antiquity.

im going to buy one of them.

if you HAD to choose, which one would you?

i have a les paul custom and i currently have seymour duncan alnico 2.

i need more responsive and raunchy pickups.

which one do you think sounds, responds, and cleans up the best between the two (just the bridge)?

  • HANDS DOWN!! ANTIQUITIES!! sold everything else....

  • @schenker69

talking about midrange, which one has more?

and overtones are sweeter on the antiquities?

full opinions would be cool man, i dont wanna waste money on something !

    thanks!

  • You may get a hint more mid from the Shep's if that's what you seek but not enuff to matter. The antiquities have much sweeter overtones and definitly capture that classic tone above all. You can always tweek you amp for a little more mid, Trust me!! All of my Les Pauls have antiquities now. The tone hunt is over...

  • Definitely the Sheptones! then the Anti,

    Nice little demo

  • Thanks!!

  • @schenker69 Hey man, where are you??

  • Have you heard of Van Halen?? just had to say that. LOL

  • Dude, I dig the Antiquities, and are you using the gain channel? If not you have that amp cranked. Sounds like a great amp.

  • I busted a nut to the Antiquities and then everything sounded like garbage after that. All really depends on the sound in your head that your trying to replicate. I use 57 Classics in the SG, Seth Lovers in the 335 and have a set of SD 59's laying around that I'm going to throw in the Tokai LP I'm waiting on. They may soon be getting changed out for Antiquities after hearing this!

  • I would choose the Sheptones over any anyday. They sound authentic.

  • the sheps sound woody....the bb's for me would be a close 2nd. the sd's sounded good, just lke the fuller shep sound

  • duncan win

  • that amp sux man! I can't hear any difference ?
