Movies To Video Games Reviews
Review #17

---This is a Fan Requested Review---

Batman Returns made by Konami for the Super Nintendo (SNES) is fully reviewed and analyzed as compared to the actual movie itself.

Feel free to comment. More movies to video games reviews coming soon.. suggestions and feedback welcome and encouraged.

In the means of saving space the score tallies used to get to the final score are listed here instead of in the review itself. They are on a 1-10 scale with 10 being the best score possible:

Story Accuracy to the Movie 7.5
(Follows the movie very well via cutscenes and with elements that happend as they did in the film too. The boss battles seem to really tie it all together even having some of the villains saying classic lines after or before said battles. Some details were left out like with Max Shreck lowering this score a bit.)

Music Soundtrack Accuracy to the Movie's 8.0
(The Batman Theme is alive and well here. You will hear it played throughout the game and the music really matches up well to many of Elfman's score. Not all the music is based off of the film but most of it is and you will enjoy hearing it done via the SNES while playing through as Batman.)

Game Difficulty 8.0
(The game is pretty easy. But not super super easy that you could beat it blindfolded. The boss battles will trip you up if you aren't ready for their patterns and some of the enemies can get lucky and gang up on you. Overall though it won't be too difficult for many and is only slightly off from being exactly the difficulty level it should be. Anyone can pick this up and not be too frustrated with it.)

Overall Fun 9.5
(One thing this game has going for it.. It's a lot of fun. Batman was made for this type of situation. Walking up to bad guys and beating them up or throwing them up against walls is just too natural a fit. You can go through this game a few times and still get fun out of it. Its not too long and not too hard and some of the moves you pull off are fun to do as well. There are some elements that could have been added but fun isn't one of them as its already here.)

Final Score: 8.50
Very Good

  • i think he should put spoilder before he starts the movie just incase you never seen it.

  • I have actually been thinking that I should have done a spoiler alert for every one of these, but I always just figured people would fast forward past it if they didn't want to know. Due to time limitations its hard to add too much more then I already have. Even that two seconds to say spoiler warning, makes a difference. But its not a bad idea.

I will have to see what if anything, I can do. But I hope you guys fast forward past the beginning part if you don't want to see movie details.

  • You should do goldeneye for the N64

  • This was a very accurate review of Batman Returns. In my opinion, if you only play one Final Fight-style game in your life, make it Batman Returns. It was nice that you focused on the game's music, because it had one of the finest scores of the 16-bit era.
