I prize the cloudy, tearing sky! One of the most poetic lines ever written. This song and this album (Umbrella) are a masterpiece. Her voice and the music on this record captures a mood and holds it throughout. It's melancholic without the sadness; it's haunting without being scary; it's tenebrious without being dark and gloomy. It's sad a band like this can make so much good meaningful music and go virtually unnoticed!

I tend to agree. I like their first three albums. The stuff after that I can do without, it's too laid back. This stuff from 1991 had a haunting energy about it.

I love Innocence Mission - but they really are two bands, the band of the first three albums, and the band of the later albums. I wish they would do another album like GLOW

Karen is one of my all-time favorite singers. Her voice is flawless. My favorite album is Umbrella and this is one of the best songs on it. I hope that they keep making music forever.
