Not many drivers show their mistakes on track for various reasons, but I am happy to share mine.
Situation: OLD (now in the garbage) tire pressure gauge shows rear tire pressure at 34 psi (street tires). Temp on track is 57 deg. F and probably should have rear tire pressure lower, but log book shows I have run that pressure before with positive results at 62 deg F. so I leave it alone. Little did I know that when I borrowed a new pressure gauge from a friend after this session it read at 40 psi on the rear and 42 on the front!!!
So 40 psi rear tire pressure on luke warm tires in 57 degree temps= recipe for spin
As you can see this is 1st lap after warm up lap, was not pushing too hard, car felt a little twitchy but nothing over the top.
Spin occurs between T5 and T6. Felt rotation in rear during braking coming out of T5 setting up for T6. Was able to keep the spin limited to on track, as you can see, was able to get off track quickly in reverse and wait for corner worker signal to enter back on track.
My lesson: buy a new tire pressure gauge and borrow a spare once and awhile to verify your pressures.
