  • Non Contact voltage tester its much better than your hand.

  • @croakerchoker504 yes. in sub panels the neutral and grounds are separate but come together in the main panel

    The National Electrical Code mandates this in accordance with NEC section 250.24(A)(5). If you are speaking of a remote distribution panel ( many incorrectly label as Sub-Panel) inside the same building as the main service enclosure then on that remote panel you would indeed want to isolate the grounded (neutrals) conductors from the grounding (Equipment Grounding Conductors) within that remote panel.
