The social issues debate re-ignited on Capitol Hill today when senators killed a proposal to throw out President Obama's contraception mandate. Conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh was thrust into the center of the debate after he called the woman who was denied the right to speak on the controversial all-male conception panel at a hearing last month a "slut" on his show Wednesday. The issue heated up more today when Limbaugh took his comments even further. For more on this story, click here: http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/...

They can cost anywhere between $15-$50 a month. It depends on the severity of the problem, how quickly you go through the pills (how often you need to take them in a day), and how much your insurance covers. While there IS no or "not enough" (whatever that means) insurance coverage for contraceptives like Fluke states, there's plenty of insurance for healthcare and medicine, and birth control pills are considered medicine and CAN be covered, as long as you prove you use it as medicine.

Yep, but I have the feeling he have no idea that women actually take also birth control pills for that reasons. We he say 'she is having so much sex she can't pay for birth control", he makes it feel as if we had to take a "sex tic tac" everytime we are getting laid. I have somehow the feeling that he have no idea how the pills work and why most women takes it. How does it cost in the USA? Here in france, my pills cost around 15 for the month, is it more expensive in the US?

He wants to watch my daughters and their boyfriends at it because we have a national health service that pays for the pill? And they pay him millions to come out with crap like that?

Rush is right. I don't want to pay for someone's condoms, sponges, or other form of birth control. The only birth control used for medical purposes are pills and sometimes women really need those, including me to regulate my menstrual cycle and ease my cramps. If tax payers have to pay for birth control, I'd only want to pay for pills used for medical purposes.

GOP to women- "Don't have sex, but if you do, stay home and have the baby, even if it's your rapist's, and if you choose to use birth control so you can enjoy sex without risking pregnancy a disgusting fat pig might spend 3 days on his national radio show calling you a slut and a prostitute and none of us will object. And don't expect the medical insurance you pay for to cover it. By the way, will you vote for us?"

I'm from France but.. A lot of people don't understand why we take birth control pills. first, we don't take it 'when we want to have sex" we have one pill everyday, even if you are a virgin or the worst whore in town. And why a lot of virgins or young teenagers take the birth control pills? Because a lot of young womens suffers for hemoragics periods. It is painful for a whole weeks, cramps, headhaches, migraines.. With the birth control pils, it's way better.

Why would anyone "come on" to you when you are so obviously massively sexually repressed like Limbaugh? Anyone who gets off on shouting "slut" at women they know nothing about, and indulging their bizarre hate-fantasy in public clearly needs help. Good luck with your issues.
