East - Wes is a tribute to Wes Montgomery. Wes always played using his thumb and Eric shows that style at the beginning of this piece. Wes died in 1968 and continues to influence thousands of guitarists.

the way he touches that guitar to achieve that insane tone if an expierienced musician had never heard of eric johnson before he or she woulda thought that sound was coming from a gibson es-175

sounds like a very updated George Benson at the beginning. I must confess, that this whole cd is likely the very best piece of music I have ever heard. Makes me want to pick up my Les- then throw it down. Thank you EJ, for re-inventing what music can really mean to an astute listener.

that's a 1954 fender strat he's playing. one of the first strats ever made. His tone is beautiful. Guitar made the same year he was born. WOW.
