This is the same Hook and Roll escape from Side Mount with a little variation-- this time we are going to transition straight into an Arm Triangle!

  • this move works really well- i get my friend to tap out to this at least once every day wenever i wrestle him, but what if they put a knee up to "prevent a mount"? it seems that it would be impossible to finish... is that true? what options would i have?

  • I'm not ever going to mount. Even if he keeps his knee up- you should be able to jump over it to go to side control on the far side, which is where you need to be anyways.

  • @TechniquePrevails thats not true... if he lifts his leg up he would probably block you

  • @willowsskate yup this move can be finished from anywhere sidemount>mount>gaurd>far sidemount id say. i love me the gator roll though. that is tight as hell

  • @emulare11 u place it right in the crook of ur elbow, right at the base of the bicep, with u palm down, all indexes cupping your bicep and ur fingers tight on the side of ur arm, and apply presuure with the forearm on thhe arm that ur grasping pinching ur hand between the forearm and the bicep. sound complicated but it is quite easy ull find exact grip for you. that is the tightest hold, if it is a bigger guy, u might have to use a gable grip, but it is not as tight but can still tap them.

  • I like to do this but do a knee on belly pass, kinda helps me pin his hips down and post my knee on the far side to keep him from hipping out.

  • im keen to try this!

  • thanks for the clip.

im not a fan of jumping from one side to another but could it be possible if i go from mount to the other side for side control??

can't wait to try both, thanks for the clip

  • do it from side control dude.ive done it.or even if he gets in your guard SOMEHOW Do It from there.

  • where do you put your hand on the non choking arm? I mean, not just in this variation, but from guard as well?
