I lived for 35 years in Calif until I sold my house & business, and cleared out a few years ago. BUT I CANNOT FORGET the sky-high salaries that city, county, & state employees receive. One of my friends is upper managment civil service in the San Bernardino area, and he LAUGHS at the salary he is paid: about $150,000 per year to go to meetings & deal with union reps. He told me, quote, "It is ridiculous what the county pays me, but I will take it!" *(plus expense account & benefits)

California should start by cutting its civil service. They are overpaid and under worked. Next they should cut most social services since they cant afford them and deport all illegal immigrants immediately. That would solve their budget issues very quickly. Note, they won't do any of this but it would work.

Bailout California and they'll set the precedent to bail out the entire US 50 states...

If they don't bail out the states, then you know it's contrived policy to bleed the states dry...

They can bail out Europe, but not their own countrymen?

He is actually cutting his own throat. Where do the salaries for Government come from? You and me. If you and me are on the streets, how does government get paid? Painful? No. I don't see any city workers there getting their pay cut. Another CBS story that is making things LOOK bad. CBS needs to do a reality check.
