Polítpticon by La rueda de la fortuna & EL TAROT

Ítoko Records (c) 2009. This video was shot in Bogotá, Colombia in 2003. Directed by Cristina Villar of Faldita Films and Leonardo Perea. The underground funk orchestra La rueda de la fortuna performed the piece, led by El Tarot presenting his most satirical lyrics to date. The panel is composed of prominent figures in the Colombian political landscape, including the authoritarian president Álvaro Uribe Vélez, top guerrilla war criminal Mono Jojoy, Mancuso of the drug-dealing paramilitary, the clergy, and others (even a beauty queen looking to better her chances of career advancement). The video was aired extensively on CityTv before being mysteriously taken off the air. El Tarot endured harsh criticism and was questioned for his choice of words, plus the overall tone of the video was construed as some as an advocacy of nihilism.
