West German ceramic vases made in the 1950's, 60's and 70's. These objects are becoming more collectable as people realize their significance in an historical sense. It was a break away from the old style into the new and experimental era of minimalism and abstraction. These vases were made to enhance and compliment the new style of contemporary living. They are practical decorative examples of Modernism.

  • you can't just call them "fat lava" since many of those vases are not made with any lava or volcanic glaze at all, so is quite minimizing and confusing to label them all with the same "style"...

  • @vulcanica75 : Thanks for you comment ! Your correct they are not all Lava glazes. FAT LAVA II was the Exhibition that we took part in. We have a wide variety of West and East German ceramics of all shapes sizes and glazes. ginfor1 has a good video on this topic. Search for Lava and Volcanic Glazes on West German Pottery on youtube. But I agree you cant label all WGP as FAT LAVA. thanks again for your comment we hope you enjoy the variety of glazes as much as we have :D
