Paper size used in the video: 30cm by 15 cm (12 in by 6in)
This video demonstrates how to fold the origami model "Kaleidoscopic Twister" that Charles "Doc" Santee designed. Doc kindly gave me permission to make this video accessible to you.
The model was inspired by Yami Yamauchi's Fireworks, which is a modular design that requires 12 sheets of paper. Hence, this model is sometimes also called "Doc's Fireworks".

  • this is so much like origami fireworks by yami yamauchi

  • @14hsoj Well, this model was inspired by Fireworks, so I'm not too surprised. :)

  • Sara, I absolutely love all of your videos and how passionate you are about your origami. Following your instructional videos has definitely made me a much better folder! I find myself actually succeeding on models that I couldn't fold before. Just wanted to say thank you so much, and keep on going! You're very talented.

  • @karigroth That's great to hear! I always hope that by showing some tips and tricks here and there will help you out there improve your skills. :)

  • sara, i kind of need help with the start of part 2. i can do it but it always cruples up into small crimpled valleys please help!

  • It is probably the hardest step in the model. Try to have very sharp creases, and have them all in the right direction. you can also straighten the folds after having collapsed. Use larger paper to understand the process, and then, if you like, use smaller paper. You don't have to do a whole model in large paper. It's enough to maybe do three or four sections.

  • Help I can't see how far to fold to fold so I can get the triangles could you please give me a link for half of the model's folds to print out

  • @tooby98765 (skip to the end -_-;)

  • It would be good if you could show a finished one at the start of the video so we don't have to watch the whole thing just to see what it is we're trying to make.

  • I wish Yuri Shumakov would post diagrams to his Magic Star so I could make a trio of amazin models :) Awesome job!
