After four years of nagging throat and ear problems, Pat Tierney was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer at the base of her tongue in 2008. She traveled from her home in Kentucky to several cancer centers around the country for opinions before deciding to be treated by Dr. William Regine in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Maryland Greenebaum Cancer Center in Baltimore. In this video, she shares the story of how she navigated a difficult diagnosis and treatment, including 17 months on a feeding tube, and how she has chosen to approach her life as a cancer survivor.
