As gusty as it gets at Wellington New Zealand... northwester gusting 60...including three 737 aborted landings (AirNZ 73 ended up going back to AKL), filmed January 13th 2012. Look out for the long duration version now available, search for: Extreme Airliner Landings At Wellington Long Version

  • Good filming. Fantastic pilots.

  • yep landed there in conditions like that! makes the approach fun that's for sure! and landing back in Auckland form Melbourne on the 7th was interesting as well... wet runway... gusty winds... and it was dark :-)

  • Great video. Nothing quite like trying to land in Wellington on a day like that.

  • The winds are listed - Northwest winds gusting 60 knots..... bad luck on the first attempt to land by the ANZ B-737 with the wind suddenly changing to a down burst. Pilot did an amazing job of applying full power at the moment he or she did. People forget that it takes anywhere from 2 to 4 seconds for turbines to react and spool up to maximum thrust.

  • wowsyyy..be interesting to know the wind speed. thx for sharing.

  • 0:32 Those Wing movements! gusty as!

  • Great Video...!!!
