It is a complete arrogance to suggest artists of the past (he means famous painters of course) would be doing what he is doing. Don't bet on that. People have made follies since the year dot. They didn't call it art but it was as much art as these follies. People paint because they want to and their art is loaded with concepts unlike your one liners.

I dont question the user's intentions.. that's irrelevant. I ask, what do I gain from this? Thats the only question, I can recieve an honest answer from. I am still trying to answer....

it's hard to appreciate things you can't understand which is obviously difficult for some =/ i think Burden is brilliant. I don't think that his "loud art" is there simply for getting attention. This art is agressive and loud for a reason, and it's powerful in that sense. It deals with agressive subject matter in an extremely difficult and violent time in US history. I think that the level of "loudness" was necessary and appropriate for what he was trying to get across.
If you don't understand art, that's fine, just leave it alone, or try harder. Don't make purely subjective, childish, and obviously unfounded comments.

degenerate art is concidentally what nazi germany used to call modern art at the time os WWII.
