Sue Mayer debating the relationship between atheism and feminism, and remembering the freethinking women who challenged religious sway over civil laws and practices so that women may have the rights they possess today. http://www.housmans.com
I should note that so called "weak" atheism is not some fence post where people don't want to say that Christians are right or wrong, or any other religion. Many weak atheists are agnostic and believe that if a god should exist, it is currently unknown. They simply do not say that 100% for sure there is absolutely no higher power -- even if the majority of evidence seems to point that way.
Hi there. Strong and weak atheism are two different stances. Because the definition of atheism is someone who either lacks a belief in a god, or holds a positive assertion that there is no god, there needs to be a way to separate this. Over time these two terms (or positive/negative or hard/soft) have covered this gap. Positive/hard/strong atheism is the assertion that there is no god. So a soft atheist is one that is not comfortable saying there is definitely no god.
I am a strong atheist, Sue says. So who is a weak atheist? Well that is easy. It is any atheist who disagrees with Sue of course!
Of course intelligence has a genetic basis Sue says. Whats her evidence? None. She spends her life demanding rational argument but if you argue rationally with her she will most likely delete you from the online clubs she so proudly facilitates.
