Polka Freakout with Bubba Hernandez and Alex Meixner

This footage was shot in Pittsburgh , PA at the 31st St Pub in the Strip District on November 28, 2007. I had never seen nor heard of either of these musicians, though I knew their drummer Matt Zebroski, but these 2 gentlemen blew me out of the water. You must buy their new album "Polka Freakout", it is recently nominated for a grammy in the category of "Best Polka Album" , whatever, I have never heard polka like this. I don't even really like polka, but the power and intensity of these men is not to be denied. Their musical integrity and deep well of passion is quite inspiring. I have been singing Bubba's "Hearts Grand Opening" in my live set. To hear the original, you really should check out:
