"It was living in a black-comedy musical. When he wrote 'Skinny Love,' we were on our couch in our underwear, eating Chinese food or whatever you do at home. He was like, 'I've got this song, and I think it might be one of the best songs I've ever written,'" she remembers. "He played it for me, and I was like, 'I know it's about me, but it's gold.' It's a song about him leaving me, but it's a beautiful song."

actually it was a real person. sort of. i think her name was christy, and they were in a relationship but justin vernon new it was not right and wrote this song. i read an interview with her where she said the most tragic thing was that he played this song to her while they were together and she knew it was about the end of their relationship but it was still the most amazing song she had heard. I think she also played instruments ono some of the album

I love his voice and that rasp he does with it gives the word more meaning gives the song more power. Love it.

The main acoustic that he uses is a Cordoba 55R classical acoustic guitar. But he also uses a resonator guitar, probably a National or something, I can never tell. In some of his videos such as Blindsided, he uses a semi-hollow body, and it looks like an Epiphone Sheraton II in ebony.
